Boluo Country, Guangdong Province

WST’s first commercial plant located in Boluo County of Guangdong Province of China, was completed at the beginning of 2008. After 6 months of testing and fine-tuning, operation started in June, 2008.

The plant’s capacity is 200 tons/day with wastewater treatment, biogas to electricity system, organic fertilizer system, etc.

The sorting line occupies 3000 area. All the mixed household waste can be sorted into non-organic fraction (rocks, glass, ceramics, etc.) , organic fraction, plastics, combustible fraction and ferrous metals. The inert fraction (rocks, glass, ceramics, etc.) is landfilled directly or crushed and used for producing pre-cast concrete products. Organic fraction mixed with scum and sludge within the wastewater is processed by a biogas fermentation system, which can quickly produce biogas for generating electricity. The residue after anaerobic digestion is an excellent raw material for producing organic fertilizer. Plastics can be used for producing light diesel. Combustible fraction is incinerated for heat. Ferrous metals is sold to the recycling factory directly.

WST technologies, including gasification, biogas to electricity, RDF and plastic to oil system is developed by the experts in Guangzhou Institute of Energy Conversion, Chinese Academy of Sciences. WST has signed a long term cooperation agreement with Chinese Academy of Sciences for jointly development of renewable energy related technology platform.
